"I recently spent a night at the excellent Bombah Point Eco cottages at the edge of the Myall Lakes National Park and was hugely impressed by the holistic and systematic environmental approach displayed there.
Eco-measures in place at Bombah Point include extensive solar panelling providing electricity, rainwater tanks throughout, a worm farm to deal with sewerage, a permaculture garden providing fresh vegetables and rigorous recycling and composting programs.
In my experience, Bombah Point puts many other Australian resorts and holiday products, which claim eco-credentials, to shame. It is definitely a good thing that there is now an environmental bandwagon on which to jump. But there are too many extravagant boasts in the domestic holiday market being made about environmental friendliness."
